About Permit EZ
[Draft copy - replace with your own voice before launch.]
Permit EZ exists to answer one question clearly: what does my construction project actually require? Homeowners, contractors, business owners, and design professionals all end up asking some version of this question, usually at a different level of detail - and today the answer is scattered across state code books, municipal ordinances, and phone calls to busy construction offices.
Why I built this
Working in the construction industry for eight years, one thing that always stood out to me was how much time went into figuring out what each project needed and calculating the corresponding permit fees. Customers would constantly reach out asking about the process - what's required just to start thinking about their dream project. What this tool aims to provide is ease for every project, and clear insight into what you need to do to make your dream a reality.
Starting in New Jersey
We're starting with New Jersey's Uniform Construction Code, which applies statewide, and building out town-by-town local detail - fees, contact information, and local review requirements - across the state. Today that includes full coverage of Gloucester County, plus municipalities in Cape May, Camden, Mercer, and Cumberland counties, with more towns being added and verified directly with local construction offices. The plan is to expand to more New Jersey towns, then additional states, with the long-term goal of covering permit requirements nationwide.
Researched and verified
Every fact on this site is sourced from a public document, and clearly labeled as either confirmed by the municipality or researched and not yet confirmed. We're reaching out to each town directly so their own construction office can review and confirm what's shown here.
